Biography
Playwright. Productions at Yale Repertory Theatre, American Place Theatre, Manhattan Theatre Club, Theatre at St. Clement's, Victory Gardens Theater, the Chicago Theater Company, and the New Federal Theater. Plays include Gulliver, Bicicletta, The Sovereign State of Boogedy Boogedy (all videotaped for the Lincoln Center Performing Arts Library); Necktie Party; The Big House; Iz She Izzy or Iz He Aint'zy or Iz They Both; Pappy; Chocolate City and the Vanilla Suburbs; and Lemuel, a rap opera. Fellowships: Guggenheim, CBS Foundation, Connecticut Commission on the Arts, National Endowment for the Arts (twice), and the Jenny McKean Moore Playwright in Residence at George Washington University.
