An examination of the tools of film and how the writer of the screenplay uses those tools to communicate dramatic ideas. Combines readings, screenings, writing-both original works and adaptations-in an effort to acquaint the student with the choices available to the screenwriter. All students are required to complete a treatment and the first half of a full-length screenplay during the semester. May be repeated.
