A series of tutorials to assist the second-year graduate student in the preparation, writing, and presentation of his or her thesis project for the M.F.A. degree. The thesis must be a full-length play, screenplay, or two related one-act plays, completed through a number of drafts. The thesis is finally presented in a staged reading (play) or story conference (screenplay) before a thesis critic-a professional writer, director, or producer from outside the program. The critic may make suggestions for revisions, which must be completed for the degree to be granted.
