Charlie Rubin has been a TV writer and producer for two decades. Most recently (2004-09) he was Supervising Producer of Law & Order Criminal Intent starring Vince D'Onofrio and Chris Noth where he wrote ten episodes, eight solo. Previously, his career was mainly on comedy staffs: Seinfeld, In Living Color's first season, The Jon Stewart Show, and various pilots, including his own. He has worked with Norman Lear, Lorne Michaels, Carol Burnett, The Wayans Brothers, Larry David and Dave Attell, and William Finn in musical theater . He worked in the kids' animation field and spent time in Korea and Japan. Currently he is writing a feature about surfing for Robert Chartoff Productions (“The Right Stuff,” all the “Rocky” movies, "Enders Game") based on his New York Times Magazine article. This is his 14th year at the Tisch School of the Arts' Dramatic Writing School, where he is a tenured faculty member who created and runs the TV Concentration, perhaps the largest concentration in the school. He is active in admissions (undergrad and grad), served as Associate Chair from 2011-12, and is proud to have taught in Singapore at Tisch Asia three times.
