Biography
Charlie Rubin teaches television writing: sitcom, sketch, and animation. He has an ongoing career in the TV field that has included being on staff at Seinfeld and In Living Color, and he's currently the Executive Producer of Hey Joel, a half-hour animated sitcom premiering on VH1 in Spring, 2003. He has written movies, punched them up on the set, and some real junk. He has been a playwright-in-residence. He has run a kids' show with battling robots. He has been elected three times to the Council of the Writers Guild of America, East, most recently by 3 votes. He just signed to write the screenplay Veeck As In Wreck, about baseball in the first half of the last century. Although he has been a professional writer for quite a while, he has been told by his family that, if he ever wants to try law school, "the money is there." He only considers that about six times a day.
