First Look @ New Plays, together with Lillian Vernon as the host organized a cocktail reception to honor director, writer, producer, and Tisch School of the Arts alumnus, George C. Wolfe, as we celebrate a fruitful year of the program’s achievement. The event, held on Tuesday, April 25, 2006, was co-hosted by Mary Schmidt Campbell, Dean of the Tisch School of the Arts, Rita Goldberg, whose passion and support for playwriting and theatre has benefited Tisch for many years, and Elizabeth Hemmerdinger, Founder and Managing Director of First Look @ New Plays, who is also a playwright and a 2003 graduate of Tisch’s Rita & Burton Goldberg Department of Dramatic Writing.
First Look @ New Plays took this special occasion to present George C. Wolfe, a graduate of the Rita and Burton Goldberg Department of Dramatic Writing, with a Tisch Big Apple Award in recognition of his artistic success and his commitment to the American theater.
